World In Sign

According to the German Association for the Hearing-Impaired, Germany is home to approximately 83.000 deaf people. Around the globe roughly 0.1% of the population don’t have access to the sense of hearing.

This sense plays a vital role in our orientation during everyday life. It warns us, we hear loving whisper, we organise chores in the house and projects at work, to mention but a few moments of our lives dependent on hearing.

But what happens if we cannot access this sense in important moments? This is the central question of the Center for culture and visual communication of the hearing-impaired in Berlin and Brandenburg.

In one of the answers delodi supports the center with software engineering. The solution allows the hearing-impaired to book and bring a sign language interpreter to a meeting via video-call.

The all encompassing platform allows the interpreters to organise their work in a safe, easy and straight forward way, while the hearing-impaired can use a smartphone application to easily receive support whenever needed.

We are proud to be able to support such a project with our expertise and - as with all of our projects - build this on proven and open frameworks like symfony, angular and fluttr to ensure flexibility and independence of our clients.
